2007 SONY GOLD AWARD WINNERS

On Monday 30th April 2007, we attended the prestigious Sony Radio Academy Awards - the radio Oscars! It was a very, very big night for us, as we were nominated in the brand spanking new category - The Internet Programme Award - for our Firin' Squad Unsigned Podcast series, and we grabbed the top prize - Gold!

Launched in August 2006 as a series of monthly shows, highlighting the UK’s finest unsigned and independent music,the Radio Academy really "got" what we're aiming to achieve with this project and we're really very proud of the accolade. Here's what the Director of the Radio Academy had to say:

"The judges were impressed by the pace and energy of this production, its audience focus and its success in capturing the intimacy of internet radio. They particularly praised the use of the medium to promote up and coming artists in a narrow community of enthusiasm, which might not find a voice on traditional broadcast channels."

We have to say a big thank you to the team behind us for all the support and hard work that has gone into the project - Mark Goodier, Chris North, John Lawley, Jamie Hamblett, Mark Vickers, mark Duckett, Dave Holt, Dom and the whole gang at Wise Buddah - most of all our Katie!
